1. What Kaia is
Kaia is a record of your employment and pay as a foreign domestic helper in Hong Kong, kept by you, which your employer can confirm. Employers can use it to keep their side of the record and to confirm payments.
Kaia does not hold, move or lend money. Payment requests are QR codes and links that your employer pays from their own bank. Kaia is not an employment agency, a bank, a lender or a law firm.
2. Free for helpers, always
Everything for helpers is free and will stay free. Kaia Plus is an optional paid plan for employers only, sold on kaia.help. Nothing in Plus lets an employer see anything of the helper’s that they could not see without it.
3. Your record is yours
- You can see everything your employer enters about you.
- Your employer sees only what they entered and what they confirmed. They never see your money space, your private notes or whether you are looking for a new employer.
- You can download your whole record as a PDF at any time, including after a job ends.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We then delete your personal data, except where we must keep something longer by law.

4. What you write here
People read each other’s words in Kaia: vouches, notebooks, circles and, when it is switched on, Hire listings. When you write something, it must be true as far as you know, and you must not use it to:
- harass, threaten or insult anyone;
- share someone else’s personal details without their permission;
- advertise, recruit for, or ask for money for anything, including loans;
- break Hong Kong law.
You can report anything that breaks these rules from the screen where you see it, and hide or leave things written to you. We read reports and may remove content or close accounts that break these rules. We do not read your private notes or your money space.
5. Estimates, not advice
Calculators and reminders (wages, holidays, what is owed when a job ends) are estimates from public Labour Department figures. They are not legal advice. Check anything important with the Labour Department or a lawyer.
6. Confirmations
A month is “counter-signed” when both of you confirm it in Kaia. Your employer confirms by a link we send to them. Anyone who has that link can press it, so keep it between you and your employer. A counter-signed month is a record that both sides said the payment was made; it is not proof in itself.
7. Using Kaia properly
Do not try to get into another person’s account or record, copy the service, or interfere with how it works. We may suspend accounts that do.
8. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters to you, we will tell you in the app before it applies. If you do not agree, you can export your record and delete your account.
